FRIENDS OF THE ARTS SCHOLARSHIP

Friends of the Arts is a collaboration of like-minded individuals who wish to provide scholarship opportunities for Jefferson County students. Students who demonstrate an aptitude for and consideration of a career in fine arts, dramatic arts, dance, music, or writing are eligible to apply. A total of $15,000 will be awarded over three years, 2014-2016One $2,500 scholarship to a graduating senior from a Jefferson County high school; One $2,500 scholarship to a student already enrolled in an arts program at a college or arts institute.

2016 Friends of the Arts Scholarship Recipient: Reilly Berksire

The first award from the Friends of the Arts Scholarship Fund was awarded to Reilly Berkshire, a Port Townsend High School graduate who will be attending Western Washington University. “Art is my form of expression, my passion, a release for my creativity and a challenge that I continue to push forth against.”

Alex Johnsen - Friends of the Arts

The second Friends of the Arts Scholarship was awarded to Alex Johnsen, a graduate of Quilcene High School. “Imagination and creativity are two things that I feel are incredibly important in life. Without both, nothing would be unique and special.” Says Alex.
