AREA OF INTEREST FUNDS

These funds help expand community grantmaking in areas of specific interest to donors.

They are ideal for donors who feel strongly about a particular cause or a particular geographic area, but who don’t want to take an active role in grantmaking.

An Area of Interest Fund allows donors to identify and support a charitable purpose (for example, alleviation of poverty), a category of interest (for example, the arts), and/or nonprofits in a specific geographic area within Jefferson County. The Foundation distributes each fund following the recommendations of a committee made up of community members.
