What is a community foundation? A community foundation is a tax-exempt, nonprofit philanthropic organization with the long-term goal of building permanent funds for the charitable benefit of a region’s residents. Donors large and small — individuals, families, businesses, organizations — invest in the foundation, which then administers funds to improve quality of life in the local community, now and into the future. |
